Childhood Days

There are some things we all did as a child

That was a time most carefree and wild

Remember those thumb fights

And trying to balance in between, the switch of lights

Remember falling from a bicycle before learning how to ride

And that game of seek and hide

Remember when you accidentally ate watermelon seeds

And feared they would grow into trees and weeds

Remember when you got excited for cold tiffin Maggi

And eating bournvita powder made you happy

Remember when you were oh so excited to burst bubble wraps

And had enough time for afternoon naps

Remember when you ate the cream and left the biscuit behind

And had such an innocent, hopeful mind

Remember when you tried your mom’s dress or your dad’s shoes

And the world was simpler with beautiful views

Remember when you would close the fridge slowly

Just to see when the lights go off wholly

Remember when you believed banging the heads together grows horns on the head

But don’t worry, just bang them together again to avoid the fate said

Remember when you would hide beside the door and wait

To boo and scare whoever crossed the gate

Remember when you dreamt about growing up

How does it feel to be part of the club?

Maybe you still do some of those things

Maybe you didn’t change even after life’s stings

Maybe what really matters is being a child at heart

Maybe that’s real talent and real art
