Where Misogyny Starts

Misogyny starts at the very beginning

From hundreds of years, this tale is spinning

It starts when

You tell your daughter to 'Sit like a girl'

And Act like a precious little pearl

It starts when

You tell your daughter to keep her voice low

You have opinions? Don't you let them show

It starts when

You police your daughter in everything she does

But if it's your son, there's no questions or buzz

It starts when

You have a hundred questions for your daughter if she goes out

But your son is completely free to roam about

It starts when

You forbid her to go with friends on that trip

"You can go when you're married" is the answer you grip

It starts when

You tell her it's mandatory that she learns how to cook

Even if she has to put in the rear seat - her books

It starts when

You tell her not to opt for sports very much

Because nobody likes muscles on a girl as such

It starts when

You say "we never complained in our time"

Teaching her that fighting for what she deserves is a crime

It doesn't start anywhere outside

But at our home, the very place we reside

Misogyny in our system is deeply rooted

Which is why it is important to be disputed

If you don't relate to the points mentioned

You have already taken a step in the right direction
