A cry in disguise

A cry is not just tears we see

It can be silence or a restless sleep's decree

When all joy fades and interest goes astray

Appetite shifts and loses its way

A hidden cry can wear a guise

Masked by the smiles in their eyes

So keep watch of those you hold dear

For cries disguised, be ever near
