Dear society

Why do you stare?

At Girls and boys talking

Men and women walking

At her bare knees and a not-so-short dress

Oh, all the scars and emotions he has to suppress

At the little boy carrying dolls

Girls are still forced to stay behind walls

At him having a sentimental rave

She's not a damsel in distress for a prince to save

At her red lipstick and beautiful open hair

Your patriarchal standards are too much to bear

Dear Society

Why does it matter?

If a boy likes pink and a girl likes blue

Women are strong, men cry too

If a boy watches soap operas and a girl watches cricket

Husbands don't have to be their wife's freedom ticket

If she earns and he is a homemaker

Women are good bosses, men are good bakers

If he is soft and she is loud

She can pay the bills without putting his chivalry in doubt

If he is younger or she does her job better

These are not the flags that get redder

But... Why does it matter what our dear dear society thinks?

Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna right?

So Don't give a care

Let go of this scare

Girls and boys are different, that's nature's way

But different opportunities are not what should stay

So Forget the stereotype

Make equality the new hype

As victims, we all know patriarchy is the worst

So why not be humans first
