She dared to dream

She dared to dream

Even though she was told

Again and again not to

Not realizing what they’re putting her through

She dared to dream

Even though she was made to believe

That they’d never come true

As always, holding a narrow point of view

She dared to dream

Even when her dreams were crushed repeatedly

Belittling her cause she’s a woman

And giving her fewer opportunities than any other man

She dared to dream

Even when she had nothing to start with

Because how could she have anything to her name

How could there be anything for a woman to claim

she dared to dream

In spite of having rocks attached to her wings

She aimed at the sky

With the aspirations of flying high

She dared to dream

She stood up for herself

She spoke her mind

And changed altogether how women are defined
