Talk About Fear

Why are we afraid? What is fear?

Is it because we don’t want to lose something very dear?

Or is it because there’s something scary in front of us to see and hear?

Maybe it’s everything, not a point but a sphere

Maybe it’s because we are afraid of the consequences and results

What will happen in the future when we’re adults?

Maybe it’s because of an unknown situation

Maybe it arises out of mere imagination

Maybe it’s because of thinking too much about other people’s opinions

Maybe we’re scared to leave our dominion

Maybe it’s a fear of heights

Maybe it’s a fear of insects and mites

Maybe it’s a fear of being alone

Maybe it’s something that is hard to own

Maybe it’s just a wish to understand and then act

Maybe it’s a fear of being attacked

Maybe it develops through experiences in life

Maybe it’s a fear of encountering a knife

Or maybe it’s just an instinct for survival

Maybe fear is not always a rival

Maybe it’s just a flight or fight response

Maybe it’s needed sometimes and not something anyone wants

While some fears are genuine, some are not

They just reside in your mind taking up a spot

It’s important to rise above the unnecessary fears

Because sometimes they end up ruining many of your life’s years

They stop you from achieving what you really want in life

Your heart and Your mind end up in a strife

Overcoming your fears is hard

It isn’t easy to lower your guard

Maybe the answer is to master your thoughts

Maybe that will undo the tangled knots

Leaving your comfort zone might also do the trick

The wall of confidence is built brick by brick

A poem about overcoming fears.
