But the time spent with you was sweet

To My first grade best friend, who never failed to save me a seat

I know that we both said we’d stay

But forgot about each other as soon as we moved away

I still remember our stupid, childish games

To my fifth grade best friend, who called me by the most embarrassing funny nicknames

I know that it didn’t last

And all the promises of “always” are in the past

It did teach me important life lessons

To My 10th grade best friend, who knew all my guilty confessions

People come and people go

Maybe in a way, this helps us to grow

Maybe everyone crosses our paths for a reason

And on the dish of life, they’re just the topping and the season
