The Celestial Beauty

The diamond-like Moon

Beguiling every passerby with its beauty

Leaving every watcher stunned

Like all the loveliness summed into one

Every writer, poet, artist

Honoring it with flattering works

Countless songs praising its glow

This legacy continues since long ago

But the moon is anything but perfect

Hiding a myriad of scars

Scars that are not so hidden anymore

But we still admire it just like before

If we can accept the moon

With all its nicks and marks

Sing its praises with all our hearts

Why can’t we accept our own flawed parts

If we can accept something so in the back of beyond

Something that we haven’t even seen up close

Why can’t we find beauty around us too

In the people who are right there in clear view

Why can’t we compliment the people around us

Strangers, long lost friends, and the inner crew

Why can’t we admire ourselves when we look into a mirror

Holding ourselves a little more dearer
